Two months later, I am still talking to my madman

Living in an ice rink
Where are we now, two months since my last post? Too many reasons for not posting, but we've been unbelievably busy and I am married to a man who is a MACHINE! We have created a place we already love as we continue to work on it. We have learned that some of the best things in life, in no particular order, are heat, electricity, cold and hot water, hard work, good planning, new and old friends, and one another. We are having a great time creating our new home and life together.

Scott and I just celebrated the 17th anniversary of our first date. The wonderful gentleman who owns the Downtown Dubuque property Scott and I are in the process of buying asked me a few days ago
Gives an idea of that ice's thickness
how Scott and I were surviving being together 24/7. I told him honestly that I can only liken the experience to living on an ice-bound desert island and that, to survive, I likely have developed Stockholm Syndrome. I discussed that possibility with my daughter Eva, explaining that I no longer roll my eyes at every idea Scott comes up with and that I love and like Scott more now than ever before. I've been in love with Scott since the day we met sledding with our now-grown children in Fort Greene Park, but my eye-rolling was a near-daily event, with or without witnesses, when Scott and I lived in Brooklyn. I've been rolling my eyes daily at whatever for most of my life, so Eva thinks losing that is a true sign of Stockholm Syndrome.

Some pics from the last two months. My previous posts, particularly Dubuque, Iowa - the big project begins give some idea of what it was like when we rolled into Dubuque in mid-December. This space was very raw back then, but we feel we've effectively got its 40 years of dirt under control now.

Still more snow, what a winter this has been!

For Eva, the brief stilt video. He's wearing a respiratory mask. I'm too lazy to add robotic-machine-walking sound effects, but imagined them with every step he took in this get-up.
